Fusing Calligraphy's Depth with Dance Legacies of Duncan & Fuller

Calligraphy transcends mere writing, embodying profound aesthetic values, with each stroke infused with the writer's emotions and state of mind.

MAKIKO, drawing inspiration from this art, merged her dance background, notably the free and intuitive dance aesthetics of 19th-century dancers Isadora Duncan and Loie Fuller. Their flowing dresses and the resulting play of light and shadow became central themes.

By fusing the rhythm and balance of calligraphy with the movements of dance, MAKIKO offers a deeply emotive and inspiring experience. Her work skillfully blends traditional calligraphy with innovative dance elements, providing a unique visual representation that elevates the aesthetic and spiritual qualities of both forms.

書道は単なる文字を書く行為を超えた深い美的価値を持ち、一筆一筆に筆者の心の状態や感情が込められています。この書道の特性を元に、自身の舞踊のバックグラウンドと組み合わせて新たなアート作品を生み出しました。

特に、19世紀の舞踊家イサドラ・ダンカンとロイ・フラーの自由で直感的なダンスと、フリーフローイングなドレスの美学を取り入れています。この組み合わせは、光と布が作り出す幻想的な影を中心に、書道のリズムやバランス、そして舞踊の動きが融合されることで、観る者に深い感動やインスピレーションを提供します。

この作品は、伝統的なアートフォームである書道とモダンダンスの革新的な要素を巧みにブレンドし、両者の美的、精神的特質を高め合う独特の視覚表現を実現しています。
